The obverse side of the medal bears the inscription "Weltformel" – literally "World Formula", or "Theory of Everything", a unifying explanation used in theoretical physics. As artist Jonathan Meese explains: "The World Formula is utter humility. Consisting of a square, circle, triangle and infinity symbol, the World Formula forms the basis of all existence. It seeks nothing but total peace. This peace medal is a relic of timelessness. Derived from ore, it knows no human fear and stands for metabolic peace. It is a badge of neutrality made of bronze – the bronze of art, the ore of peace. It heralds a future era devoid of human violence."
On the left side, the bronze medal bears the artist's signature, and on the right side, the figure 08, the year in which it was created and awarded for the first time. The reverse carries the following inscription in German: "ROLAND BERGER HUMAN DIGNITY AWARD TO PROMOTE PEACEFUL COOPERATION IN THE WORLD" followed by the current year of the particular award presentation. The symbols described above by the artist adorn the rim of the medal. The bronze medal rests in a velvetlined wooden box made of walnut.
