Countdown is on for premiere

There's hard work going on in the rehearsal rooms of the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz. Serious rehearsals for the premiere of the "Wizard of Oz" started on July 31. Eighty winners of the Roland Berger scholarships are currently preparing for the debut of the musical - a unique experience for all as part of the "Fit for responsibility" scholarship.

Sixty young people aged 9 to 20 traveled from Berlin, Brandenburg, North Rhine-Westphalia and Bavaria to Munich on Monday evening. Rehearsals started on Tuesday. Another twenty scholars will arrive later on.
Every day, different groups sing, play music and practice and practice: Regardless of the role they are playing, the entire cast is facing a demanding regimen. But the main actors especially have a huge task in front of them: Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion, they are in the process of perfecting their roles.

The rehearsals are a lot of work. However, thanks to the professional guidance of director Holger Seitz and his assistant Janna Meder, the tenor Götz Schuricke and conductor Eva Pons, the scholars are having a lot of fun experiencing the new world of theater.

There are still a few tickets left for the musical. Contact Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz to get yours.
