Minister President honors mentors

Minister President Horst Seehofer honors the commitment of 135 volunteer mentors. "Fit for responsibility" is one of the "Selected Landmarks in 2010"

A good advisor to help you in every situation – that's what we all want. And that is exactly what the scholarship recipients of the Roland Berger Foundation have found in the form of mentors. These mentors help the scholarship recipients by providing them with good advice on their way to successfully completing their university entrance exams.

The volunteers' extraordinary commitment was honored by Bavaria's Minister President Horst Seehofer on Saturday, January 23, 2010, during celebrations at the Allerheilige Hofkirche (Court Church of All Saints). Mentors from all over Germany – Berlin, Brandenburg, North-Rhine Westphalia and Bavaria – came to the event to receive their certificates. The mentor certificates represent responsibility, concern for the next generation, courage to give back and an active interest in Germany's education system.

As part of the celebrations, the "Fit for responsibility" program is being honored as one of the "365 Landmarks in the Land of Ideas". The "Germany – Land of Ideas" initiative is under the patronage of German President Horst Köhler, who will present the annual "Roland Berger Human Dignity Award", which is endowed with one million euros, in Berlin at the end of April.
