The scholarships are granted to children and young people between the ages of six and twenty-five from socially disadvantaged families. An individual support plan is drawn up for each scholarship holder as a combination of twelve possible components.
The plan can include, for instance, one-on-one tutoring in specific subjects, seminars, summer academies, internships as well as individual guidance from volunteer mentors operating in the regions. The Roland Berger Foundation's support package also includes financial assistance with funds for remedial coaching, school trips and study materials. The Foundation can also pay for other study-related expenses and cover tuition fees.
