The "Roland Berger Human Dignity Award – to promote peaceful cooperation in the world" honors individuals and institutions who have gone to great lengths to respect, promote and protect human dignity and human rights in an open and peaceful global society. In short, the award acknowledges their commendable past efforts and continuing commitment.In line with the objectives of the foundation, the prize is intended to publicly acknowledge exemplary commitment and to reward it with financial support. The sponsor aims to raise awareness on human dignity and human rights worldwide, and to encourage people to follow in the path of award-winning role models and become active in protecting them.
Germany's Federal President Horst Köhler has assumed patronage of the "Roland Berger Human Dignity Award – to promote peaceful cooperation in the world". The prize includes a grant of EUR 1 million. President Köhler will personally present the award at an annual ceremony in Berlin.
