Education

To live a life in dignity, every human being must have the opportunity to develop his or her potential and personality through non-discriminatory access to the best possible education. In Germany, however, it is a fact that education is primarily a question of social background. Today, 83% of children whose parents went to university go on to study, while only 23% of children from families without a tradition of higher education do likewise. The situation is even worse for children from families with a migration history. One in every five youths with a migration background leaves school without a diploma.

The Roland Berger Foundation aims to contribute to improving the unequal educational opportunities for people in Germany and to overcome social selectivity in schools and institutions of higher education.  Moreover, it aims to grant Roland Berger scholarships to children and young talented people - particularly those from the less educated classes. To this end, the Foundation finances its own initiatives and supports relevant third-party projects.
